August 6, 2020

Puget Island residents might notice a larger number of people than normal walking and biking their roads August 15 when the Angora Hiking Club holds its Westport Ferry to Puget Island bike/hike.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Participants will first meet in Astoria at Marine Drive between 2nd and 3rd streets by 9 a.m. to sign-in. A volunteer has offered to transport bicycles to the ferry dock in Westport. The ferry leaves at 10:15 (every 15 minutes after the hour). There are restrooms at both docks.

Participants are asked to bring their lunches, water and snacks. One can call the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce at 360-795-9996 for more information.

People should call the bike/hike coordinator Kathleen Hudson 503 861-2802 by August 14 to participate. One does not need to be a member to join the event. For more information about Angoras check the website angorahikingclub.org.
