Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

September 28 – 8:01 a.m. A caller reported a possible dead horse in a pasture on East Valley Road. 1:53 p.m. A Puget Island resident returned from a three day trip to find the cap off the fuel tank of one of her vehicles and about half a tank of fuel siphoned off. 4:12 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a neighbor had inappropriate relations with her daughter when she was 16. She said that when she confronted the man, he told her that 16 was the age of consent in Washington. A deputy responded, and the complainant clarified that she and her daughter had been sexually harassed by the neighbor over the past year. The daughter said that she had not had sexual contact with the man, but said he had repeatedly made sexual comments to her and slapped her buttocks on one occasion. She told him not to do that again and he complied, she said. The caller was told to apply for an anti-harassment order. 6 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a resident on Greenwood Road who was having trouble breathing. 8:26 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR4 on Abe Creek Hill.

September 29 – 6:22 a.m. A caller reported a possibly injured fawn on the Puget Island bridge. State patrol was notified. 7:04 a.m. A caller asked to file trespass charges against a man who had visited his home. He was advised to get a protection order. 7:41 a.m. A caller reported that she had struck and injured a deer on SR 4 near the Elochoman River bridge. 2:03 p.m. A caller found a deceased horse in the Elochoman River. The owner was notified. He retrieved the animal and said he gave it a “proper burial.” 2:38 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that his political signs had been stolen. 4:22 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a protection order had been violated. 9:38 p.m. A caller reported that there was a man leaning against a guardrail along East Valley Road. A deputy responded. The man said he was homeless and that his car had broken down near the store in Skamokawa. He was told he could not stay where he was because it was private property. He agreed to walk back to his vehicle and spend the night there. He planned to get his car fixed the following day.

September 30 – 10:21 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported that he was being threatened and harassed repeatedly by another individual. 3:27 p.m. Possible sexual abuse was reported at a Rosedale home. 3:47 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a gun had gone off in her husband’s hand and that the bullet was still in his finger. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. 5:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident complaining of chest pain. Lifeflight was activated. 5:18 p.m. An individual was taken into custody following a vehicle stop. 11:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who had fallen.

October 1 – 7:52 a.m. A caller reported a deceased animal in the westbound lane of SR 4 in the Rosburg area. State patrol was notified. 8:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who may have had a seizure after a fall. 10:28 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had a seizure. 2:48 p.m. A caller reported the theft of a boat cover at the marina. 2:53 p.m. A caller said that an individual at the marina had been threatening passing boaters. 6:04 p.m. A caller reported that there was a kid taking pictures from the roof of the Pioneer Church. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. 10:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was complaining of swelling in one leg and pain on both sides of her body. 10:56 p.m. A motorist was cited for running a light and for not having a motorcycle endorsement.

October 2 – 12:50 p.m. A panic alarm was activated at a Deep River property. The alarm company canceled the alarm. 1:53 p.m. A Grays River resident said he had been called by someone claiming to be from Publisher’s Clearing House, needing information. He called PCH and was advised to contact the police. 7:15 p.m. A caller reported a recreational fire in a fire pit on Greenwood Road. 8:22 p.m. A Cathlamet resident found a padlock on her door when she returned to her home along with a note that instructed her to contact the sheriff’s office for an escort to retrieve her things. She claimed she still had one more day before she was required to be out of her apartment. 9:34 p.m. A Rosedale resident alleged child abuse between November and April and asked to speak to a deputy.

October 3 – 2:17 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had gone into a ditch on Cathlamet Road. An agency in Cowlitz County was notified and a deputy responded. 3:28 a.m. A caller said that an individual who had come home to find a padlock on her door could not be kicked out of her apartment because she was on HUD assistance. The caller agreed to speak with someone at 9 a.m. 1:40 p.m. A Middle Valley Road resident reported that an individual had pulled up in front of his vehicle earlier in the day and brandished two pistols. 2:45 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that three campaign signs had been stolen during the night. 11:52 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone had thrown something at her car and broken a window. He ran into the woods. She didn’t want to get out of her car; she was afraid he would come back.

October 4 – 1 a.m. Dispatch tried to make contact after a caller abandoned a 911 call. No one responded. Deputies were notified. 6:44 a.m. State patrol requested assistance with a vehicle pursuit on SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. An individual who was confronted at gun point would not obey commands. A deputy responded. The subject was taken into custody. At 6:52 a.m., the Cathlamet ambulance was requested, but the patient refused care. 11:20 a.m. A homeowner east of Cathlamet reported that someone had intentionally knocked over her mailbox, and that two other mailboxes had been pried off the post. She also said that some political signs had been vandalized or stolen. 12:01 p.m. A man who was fishing in the Elochoman Slough reported that an individual in a sailboat had threatened to shoot him and his brother-in-law. 12:22 p.m. An east county resident reported that her mailbox had been damaged. She said that she had seen others nearby that had been damaged as well. There were multiple calls, including one person who claimed to have video. 1:45 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that a political sign had been torn down and run over. 2:31 p.m. A caller requested assistance after getting locked out of his vehicle. 5:41 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area, recklessly passing cars, almost striking oncoming vehicles head-on. A deputy stopped the vehicle and gave the driver a warning.

October 5 – 6:25 a.m. An east county resident reported that a mailbox had been vandalized and a political sign had been stolen. 7:49 a.m. A caller reported a dead coyote on the Birnie Slough bridge.
