Neewollah Days will have a whole new look

October 22, 2020

There have been some changes to this year’s Neewollah Festivities, which are set to begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 30.

The event has been moved to the Wahkiakum High School parking lot for better safety and to provide room for social distance, Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce Interim Director Stacey Lane said.

Families are invited to line the parade route, while remaining in their small groups, to watch vehicles and banner/flag walkers wind around the parking lot. Participants will then park in assigned locations, where they can hand out candy for Trunk or Treat.

Candy should be wrapped in sealed bags, and everyone is being asked to wear masks and gloves and stay in their small groups.

Children should bring a bag to collect their goodies.

The pet parade will follow, and well behaved pups are invited to show off their costumes.

Organizers ask pet owners to please keep their pets on a leash for everyone’s safety.

There will be an area set aside for anyone who would like to watch the festivities from the security of their vehicle.

Smaller details are still being worked out with the Wahkiakum School District and with the Wahkiakum Health and Human Services.

For more information, call the Chamber at 360-795-9996.
