January 7, 2021

Another Wahkiakum County resident tested positive for covid-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 62, with 16 considered active.

The person is in self-quarantine. There is no known connection to Wahkiakum School District or St. James Family Center.

Wahkiakum Health and Human Services is working with the person to determine who may have exposure risk and will notify people who has come in close contact.

There is active community spread, according to WHHS, and the risk of contracting covid-19 in Washington is increasing dramatically. They are urging people to practice safety measures such as social distancing, staying at home, wearing a mask if you have to socialize, and restricting activities to household members only.
