County not getting support it deserves

To The Eagle:
Enough!
If anyone wrote a book five years ago about a political scene as exists now, no one would publish it as it would be considered unbelievable. Plus today all parties have a different view of what is happening. We just had an an election, so let’s concentrate locally to change our quality of living in Wahkiakum County.
Wahkiakum is not getting the support for a small rural county it deserves. And this includes all parties at all levels.
Wahkiakum County needs to work ardently to change this. The county is beautiful and filled with a large range of voters.
The Wahkiakum County Democratic Party is making it’s main goal increasing quality of life for our citizens. Rural living has more potential than what is already developed. However government right now favors more populated areas. Thirty percent of Washington state voters are rural while over 50 percent of land is rural. Yet rural Wahkiakum County is being overlooked, and rules are passed that are not good for the county. Again, enough.
The Wahkiakum County Democratic Party will have its first 2021 General Meeting this Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 9 a.m., on Zoom. It will be the first meeting with the newly elected Executive Board: Chair Ron Wright, Vice Chair Susan O’Connor, Treasurer Mariane Brightbill, Secretary Debbie Lincoln and PCO Chair Scot Roskelley.
All Democrats are invited to attend and present ideas to work on for the next two years. No idea is too small or too big. If you cannot make it, you are encouraged to email your suggestions. If you are not a Democrat, we are also looking for your suggetions to improve the quality of life in our county.
