Governmental council surveying housing needs

January 28, 2021

The Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments is conducting a survey to assess the housing needs and issues of availability and affordability in Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties. Results from this survey will be incorporated into the finalized Housing Needs Assessment document that will serve as an in-depth study of regional demographics, housing availability, housing affordability, and overall housing challenges in the southwestern Washington region and Rainier, Oregon.

The Housing Needs Assessment Survey includes questions related to respondents’ current living situations, housing tenure (renting versus owning), housing unit sizes, and housing satisfaction, among others. The results will be used throughout the region to support new housing opportunities focused on the needs, challenges and hopes of area residents.

The deadline for response submissions to the Housing Needs Analysis Survey will be January 29, 2021. The survey can be found online at http://www.cwcog.org on the homepage under Surveys.

The Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments is a multi-purpose association of governments that delivers a diverse array of federal, state and local programs while fulfilling its primary function as a regional planning organization.
