Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 15 — 2:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident complaining of chest pain. 3:39 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a resident at a home east of Cathlamet who was bleeding after a fall. 8:10 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who had recently had surgery and whose incision was leaking. The individual declined transport to the hospital. 9:17 a.m. A stranded Skamokawa resident said that Ingalls Road needed to be plowed. The county road department was notified. They said they were aware of the situation. 9:42 a.m. A caller hung up after dialing 911. She said she was cleaning ice off her car when she was contacted, and that she was okay. 2:42 p.m. A caller in Rosedale said his landlord had turned off the power to his residence, and that it had happened before. A deputy spoke with the landlord; she said her son had been cutting wood with a chain saw and almost hit the live wire that was running power to the residence. A deputy notified the caller that it was a civil issue. 7:59 p.m. A caller reported that a power line was down along Barr Road. The PUD was notified.

February 16 — 8:11 a.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on a Deep River road. 11:10 a.m. The marina reported that someone had attempted to gain access to coin boxes in two of the showers. A deputy responded and found no property damage. He could not ascertain if there had been any money stolen. 11:10 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported forged documents. She also said that power had been hooked up illegally at her residence. 3:18 p.m. A Cathlamet resident said that a man may have attempted to get her son into his vehicle while they were waiting at a bus stop. The man had told the boy that if he liked snowballs he had one with his name on it. An older brother pulled the boy away from the truck, and the man drove away when the bus appeared. 3:32 p.m. A caller said that an abandoned van was blocking buses at the school in Cathlamet. A deputy responded and pushed the van into a parking spot. 4:44 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded after a caller in Skamokawa said she might be choking. She called back at 4:54 p.m. to say she was okay. She refused transport to the hospital. 5:11 p.m. A caller said that her daughter had gone missing after she was dropped off in Longview on January 15. She was seen at Walmart this afternoon with her husband, who the caller described as aggressive and on meth. The caller was concerned that her daughter was being held against her will, but admitted she had gone missing before and had a history of returning on her own. 7:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual in Cathlamet who may have lost consciousness and was complaining of severe head and chest pain. 9:07 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4.

February 17 — 10:26 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a man who had shown up at the marina in a sailboat a couple weeks earlier. When staff attempted to run his credit card, there were insufficient funds, so someone went down to his boat to talk to him. There was no response. He had not been seen for four days. A deputy responded and found no one on board. 4:49 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that two unknown horses were on his property. The animals were returned to their owner. 11:37 p.m. A caller reported a domestic disturbance at a Cathlamet home after hearing shouting and breaking glass.

February 18 — 1:27 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and the Grays River Fire Department aided an Alger Creek resident complaining of chest pain, blood pressure problems, and difficulty breathing. 7:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had fallen and knocked out a tooth. Transport to the hospital was refused. 4:04 p.m. A police department in Florida requested a welfare check on a Deep River resident who had been calling and accusing them of harassing a friend. A deputy contacted the individual, who said he was fine but became agitated when he was given the reason for the call. 5:25 p.m. A caller said that the PUD had left tree limbs on Grays River roads after they repaired power lines. The county road department was notified.

February 19 — 10:29 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported that she had received a phone call from a man who claimed to be an officer. He told her that her social security card had been suspended before she hung up on him. 2:32 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that her boyfriend had stolen her dog and was now trying to sell him on Facebook. A deputy spoke with both parties, and informed them that it was a civil issue. 2:48 p.m. Human remains were found on KM. The coroner was notified. 3:12 p.m. A caller said that her daughter had gotten her vehicle stuck near a pump house on Puget Island. There were no injuries reported, and the father planned to pull the vehicle out soon.

February 20 — 5:24 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident complaining of chest pain. 9:03 a.m. A search warrant was served at a Puget Island home. An individual was taken into custody. 11:57 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual at a Puget Island home who was having flu-like symptoms. 7:23 p.m. A caller reported that an abandoned structure on East Valley Road was on fire. The Skamokawa Fire Department and the District 4 Fire Department responded and determined that it was a burn pile containing garbage and clothing. The resident did not have a permit and the issue was turned over to law enforcement. 10:35 p.m. A caller reported a one vehicle accident on West Birnie Slough Road. A deputy, the Puget Island Fire Department, and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. The occupants were able to extricate themselves from the vehicle and both refused transport to the hospital.

February 21 — 8:09 a.m. A caller said that someone on Beaver Creek was burning illegal materials. The District 4 Fire Department asked law enforcement to respond. When the fire department arrived, they said that the only smoke they could see was coming out of the chimney. 9:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had blood in his urine. 11:01 a.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west on SR 4 near County Line Park. The caller said that the other driver had picked up a rock which had cracked her window. State patrol responded. 2:07 p.m. A caller said that an individual had stolen a vehicle and driven it to Longview, where the keys were stolen during an altercation. The individual who had stolen the vehicle then hitchhiked back to Cathlamet without the vehicle. 2:57 p.m. An alarm was activated at an address on Steamboat Slough. It was canceled a few moments later.
