STEAM Kits for Ages 3-8 available at the library

Cathlamet Public Library now has free ‘Grab and Go' STEAM kits available to support STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) thanks to the Washington State Library. These kits provide adult family members with the resources to assist with activities for ages 3 through 8 and support STEAM literacy.

These Grab and Go STEAM kits contain the following:

• Everything needed for a simple craft each week.

• A literacy sheet with fun facts/songs/finger plays.

• An evaluation link for the family to fill out online.

Individual grab and go STEAM kits will be available for the first 20 participants who knock on the library door and sign up with their name and phone number, during open (curbside) hours, with different themes for 10 weeks.

Themes include: Rainbows; Circus; Penguins; Space; Sports; Under the Sea; Mittens; Fish; Robots and Dinosaurs.

Library open (curbside) hours are Tuesdays-Saturdays from 2-5 p.m. The library hopes to open to the public in May when staff are vaccinated.
