PUD OK's wi-fi pact, considers other issues

April 22, 2021

On Tuesday, the Wahkiakum County PUD Board of Commissioners held their bi-monthly meeting.

General Manager Dave Tramblie gave an update about engineering for the Deep River water project. Tramblie concluded that by performing the engineering in house, there could be a cost saving. However, the commissioners discussed the possibility of seeking grant funding for the entirety of the project. Nothing was decided.

The commissioners discussed the general manager search which they stated will end on April 24. A salary range was also deliberated, but no changes were made.

Commissioners also brainstormed a strategy to streamline the recording and accessibility of board meetings for public record. They are considering a physical server to host the recordings but will make a decision after further review at a later date.

Lastly, the commissioners swiftly passed a resolution authorizing an interlocal agreement for community WI-FI services along with several other local agencies to increase public access to internet, in and around the downtown area.
