To The Eagle:
I was embarrassed to read a recent letter to The Eagle from a totally un-informed person; I will comment on it. As a European, we have always liked Americans. I came here happily and freely, joined the US Army, then proudly accepted US Citizenship. Must say, I was embarrassed when in Denmark, while 45 proposed to buy Greenland, many jokes, while repeating I did not vote for him. The writer also had trouble with math. Not sure why Georgia was on her mind, but Biden promised he would make the stimulus $2,000 for all of us, $1,400 plus the $600 we got from 45 and Republicans equals $2,000. Promise kept! The ‘incentives’ to get people vaccinated are because of science deniers, most who are Republicans, for the good of the herd. By the way, don’t move to Europe, you wouldn’t be appreciated there either.
Another recent writer lacked honesty and truth. The Hyde Amendment is a legislative provision barring the use of federal funds to pay for abortion except to save the life of the woman, or if the pregnancy arises from incest or rape.
But, we have real problems: There is a war on Democracy and truth by the elected Republicans and fanatic cult 45 followers. Our one-term, twice-impeached, wannabe forever ruler, is fueling the Big Lie which I have written about for a year or so. How many times can one count the ballots, with the same outcome, for Republicans to believe in our democratic process? Infinite it appears.
Who can deny, what everyone watched with horror, January 6th, and deny it happened? Elected Republicans and rabid 45er cultists. Europeans are stunned and sad seeing this happening in the US, used to seeing it in places like Belarus, Russia and such, not here. At some point, it seems to me, Republicans must see that they are progressing toward a downfall of democracy!
