The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

The Wahkiakum High School cross country team joined runners from 20 other schools to compete at the 1B/2B District 4 Championships in Rainier on Saturday.

In boys’ competition, sophomore Nathan Garrett took 73rd place in a field of 96 with a time of 22:42.26. Senior Daniel Quintana of Ilwaco won the 5,000 meter race with a time of 16:39.87.

Senior Kimberlee Watkins took 49th place in a field of 54 with a time of 33:26.92. Freshman Madison Ingram of NW Christian (Lacey) won the girls’ 5,000 meter race with a time of 19:26.87.
