That Bob Saari is always looking for an excuse to climb a tree. Last time an Eagle photographer caught up with him he was limbing and falling trees at a cliffside property in eastern Wahkiakum County. On Monday, he rose early to rescue a three-year-old orange tabby cat named Tom from his five day retreat in a tall Cathlamet fir tree. Saari was happy to go up, and a hungry and thirsty Tom was happy to come down. Tom was about 50 feet up, Saari said, and no, this wasn't his first rescue. Photo courtesy of Trish Rafferty.
