Wrestlers fall to covid-19

December 23, 2021

Wahkiakum Mule wrestlers were scheduled to participate in the Wyatt Draper Memorial Tournament at Ridgefield High School last Saturday, but the tournament was cancelled after many covid-19 positive cases were traced back to wrestling tournaments throughout the state.

The State of Washington, Washington Inter scholastic Athletic Association, and Clark County all decided it was best to postpone the tournament, Mule wrestling Coach Garrett Radcliffe reported.

"All of our athletes are disappointed, but healthy," he said. "Wahkiakum School District has an established testing protocol, and none of the wrestlers have had any positive results.

"At this point in time the wrestling season is still continuing. We will begin league play in January and continue with our testing protocols, practices, and meet preparation."
