The Wahkiakum Lions Club has announced Henry (Hank) Bassi as their December Student of The Month. He is pictured here with Lions President Terri Elfers as he received his check and certificate recognizing him for his accomplishments. Hank is very proud of becoming the captain of his Trapshooting Team. His plans include being part of the work force and being a journeyman for a tree trimming service. Josephine Young is pictured as she received her check and certificate from Lions Club President Terri Elfers to honor her as the Wahkiakum Lions January Student of The Month. She has worked hard at adapting and fitting in to give back to the community. Josephine is a manager for football and wrestling and is co-president of ASB. She is a leader and mentor. Her plans include going to Eastern Ore. University in LaGrand to become a nurse and working in the hospital there until graduation. She hopes to become a nurse working in pediatrics. She is good at public speaking & math and loves to travel, loves hiking, cooking, baking and gardening. Josephine is the daughter of Arthur & Paige Young. Courtesy photo.
