Remains of both missing swimmers recovered

Wahkiakum County Sheriff Deputies and Wahkiakum County Coroner have announced that the remains of both Alejandro Ismael Lopez Ramirez, age 28, and Elmer Ronaldo Lopez Ramirez, age 26 have been recovered.
Yesterday, Alejandro Ismael Lopez Ramirez was found by family members searching the riverbank in Altoona.
Today, Wahkiakum Search & Rescue, Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Office marine patrol and the Cowlitz County Dive Team resumed both land and water searches of that area hoping to recover Elmer Ronaldo Lopez Ramirez. Search and Rescue found Elmer’s remains at 10:32 this morning. Both men went missing after swimming at Vista Park on Saturday afternoon.
Again, we would like to thank the numerous people that have assisted in this recovery
and remind everyone that life jackets save lives.
