Living in the USA

To The Eagle:

It’s painfully clear that the Covid pandemic has caused deaths, to not only people, but sadly also some small businesses that fell through the cracks, getting the help from Biden’s Rescue Plan. Our dependence on parts from all over the world, which had the same problems, is slowly getting back on track. Jobs are at an all time high, with rising wages, though not keeping up with inflation. Gas is finally going back down. I’d like to know why, as there were massive profits for oil companies.

Democrats and Biden have a bill in progress that will help reduce prescription costs, Medicare drug price negotiation and Medicare insulin cap. It would slash US greenhouse gas emissions 40 percent by 2030, leaves out tax surcharges on wealthy individuals, and moreover the Congressional Budget Office has found that it’s likely to reduce the deficit by up to $102 billion over 10 years and perhaps more than $300 billion!

Then there was the Chip act, to help produce more computer chips in the USA, Infrastructure bill (long promised by former presidents), The American Rescue Plan Act helped get us through, and many smaller bills.

Sadly the bills that have not been passed, are all being opposed by Republicans, such as, a bill to protect the right to contraception, Equal Rights Amendment, Freedom to Vote Act and John R. Lewis Voting Rights. Then sadly many Republican states are making obstacles for many to vote, in hopes of stacking the deck. That brings me to CPAC, who are those openly racist nut-jobs, who yell and scream vulgarities, openly speaking of racism, cheering Orban who is very racist, even going to Hungary for a joint celebration of those ideas. Is that the direction of Republicans? If not, I have not heard any speak up against it. Silent people in the 30s allowed Hitler to come to power!

May God Bless America.
