The second annual Wahkiakum Farm 2 Fiber Festival was held this weekend at the Wahkiakum County Fairgrounds.

On Saturday, lucky visitors got to watch sheep shearing with Pony Jacobson, who made it look easy, and sheep herding with Jacobson and his very smart dog, Possum.

Visitors could also take any number of classes from felting to tatting to rug hooking. There were Pygora goats to check out or even buy, as well as lots of fiber, spun and unspun, dyed and undyed, and soaps, and punch needle kits, and so much more.

"I think this year's festival was a great success," Organizer Lori Cagle said. "Everyone enjoyed the sheep shearing and herding demos and the Pygora goat events, and they are looking forward to next year. There was a lot of shopping going on at the vendor booths as well, so next year we plan on being even bigger and better!"

Mark calendars, because the third annual Farm 2 Fiber Festival is already scheduled for September 8-10, 2023.
