The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

This updated photo of the Deep River Church Project shows work being done on the steeple. Upon inspection, significant rot was found in the steeple, so a new support frame was built for the bell. In this photo, Robert Novoselic is oiling the cedar shakes used as replacement. The entire steeple will be oiled upon completion of work. The church is also being painted at this point. Assurance was given that the little church will be finished by early December for the Finnish Christmas Concert held here annually.
