The Wahkiakum Mules volleyball team advanced in the double elimination district tournament on Saturday when they followed an opening round loss to Toutle Lake with a win against Morton/White Pass.

The Lady Mules lost to Toutle Lake in four sets, and beat MWP in four sets.

Wahkiakum faced Rainier in a loser out match yesterday (Wednesday) at Ocosta HS at 4 p.m. The season ended for the loser, but the winner played a second match that evening against the winner of the Ilwaco/Forks game at 7 p.m.

If the Lady Mules won both games on Wednesday, they return to play on Saturday, as one of four teams in the loser's bracket vying for three remaining berths to the state tournament.

The state tournament takes place November 10-11 at the Yakima Valley SunDome.
