Above, Commander Bill Tawater of VFW Post 5297 spoke to Wahkiakum students last Wednesday at their annual Veterans Day Assembly about his experience serving in the Air Force. Students and veterans in attendance also heard speeches from ASB Co-President Gabe Gumucio and Superintendent Brent Freeman, and heard a presentation from Mrs. Brown's Fifth Grade Class on the Vietnam War.

RIght, Wahkiakum High School seniors honored local veterans with a candle lighting as they read the names of men and women in the community who served in the armed forces.
