Mule boys bag Ducks, fall to Rockets

The Wahkiakum Mules boys basketball team split games this week.

Brodie Avalon uses a screen from Jacob Johnson to go up for a 3-point shot in the Mules' win over Toutle Lake.

On Thursday, the team beat Toutle Lake at home 72-57.

Zakk Carlson led scoring with 18 points. Dominic Curl and Brodie Avalon added 15 points apiece, Kyler Sause had 11 points. Titan Niemela had six, Jacob Johnson added five, and Tanner Collupy finished with two.

On Friday, the Mules picked up their first loss of the season in Castle Rock, 66-57.

Carlson led scoring again with 17 points. Avalon added 13. Johnson had nine points, Sause had seven, Niemela had six, and Curl had five.

On Wednesday the Mules traveled to Kalama. The score was not available before press time. The boys' final game before Christmas break is Thursday (today) at home against Rainier.
