The Wahkiakum Mules track and field team traveled to Elma on Thursday to compete with five other teams in a 1B/2B/1A meet. The Mules scored 26 points to take fifth place in boys’ competition.
Top six finishers for the boys include:
200 meters — 4. Declan Hendricks 25.39; 400 meters — 2. Landon Nielsen 55.76; 800 meters — 4. Daniel Spisla-Hongel 2:33.96; High jump — 1. Nielsen 5-10.
Mule girls were not among the top six finishers and did not score any points.
The team travels to North Beach for another 1B/2B/1A league meet on Thursday (today) and again on Friday the following week for the Central 2B League Championships.
The Naselle Comets hosted five teams at a home meet last Thursday. They scored 87 points to tie for second place in girls competition, and 97 points for third place in boys competition.

100 meters — 5. Bella Colombo 13.99, 6. Mylee Dunagan 14; 200 meters — 1. Bella Dunagan 29.81; 100 meter hurdles — 3. B. Colombo 18.76; Shot put — 1. Paige Haataja 27-2; Discus — 4. Haataja 66, 6. Jessica Underhill 65; Javelin — 1. B. Colombo 89-6.5; High jump — 1. M. Dunagan 4-8, 2. B. Dunagan 4-8; Pole vault — 2. B. Dunagan 6-6, 3. B. Colombo 6-6, 5. Desirae Gifford 5-6; Long jump — 1. M. They traveled to North Beach on Thursday (today) for a 1B/2B/1A league meet, and freshmen competitors head to an invitational in Centralia on Saturday before the Comets host another league meet on Wednesday.
