The Naselle Comets are headed to the opening round of the State 1B baseball tournament, while the softball team is still finishing up the district tournament this week.

After losing a 1B District 4 game 4-3 to Mossyrock on May 11, the Comets had to win a 1B District 1/2/4 crossover game on May 13 to continue their season. They got the win, beating Rainier Christian 23-0.

The Comets will face Crosspoint in a loser out game on May 20 at noon at Larson Playfield in Moses Lake. The winner will face Almira-Coulee-Hartline later that day in another loser out game. The winner will advance to semifinals on May 26.

The Comet softball team started the 1B District tournament on Monday with a 15-5 win against Taholah. On Wednesday, Naselle will vie with Mossyrock for the lone berth to the State 1B softball tournament, which begins May 26.
