One of Landon Nielsen's goals at WHS was to get to the state track meet. This year the senior made it in two events.

Wahkiakum High School senior Landon Nielsen is headed to the State 2B Track and Field Meet which takes place in Yakima this year on May 25, 26, and 27.

Nielsen competed in three events on Friday at W.F. West High School in Chehalis at the 2B District 4 Track Meet. Nielsen did not qualify for state in the 400 meters, after finishing with a time of 57.68 and an eighth place. He will, however, compete in the shot put after a 40-7 throw earned him a sixth place finish, and in the high jump after clearing 5-6 for fourth place.
