Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the last week, including:
November 11 10:05 a.m. A caller in Deep River reported they found a boat adrift near Rice Island and had taken it to Longview.
November 12 9:52 a.m. A driver called to report they had hit a deer on SR-4, no injuries were reported. 11:06 a.m. A caller on SR-4 requested assistance after being locked behind a property gate with two locks on it. 8:08 p.m. A driver on SR-4 reported they had hit a large rock in the road East of Nassa Pt. and it popped their tire. 8:25 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report a power outage on Jacobson Rd. and that they found a large branch on the transformer and wires on the ground. PUD reported power was restored. 10:51 p.m. A power outage was reported on Beaver Creek Rd. and Elochoman Valley Rd. PUD reported power was restored.
November 13 8:19 a.m. Two inches of water were reported over the Roadway on Eden Valley Rd. Water over roadway signs were placed on Wainamo, Wirkkala, and Deep River Rd. 9:17 a.m. A Puget Island resident called that two loose dogs were attempting to get at their ducks.
November 14 2:52 a.m. A driver on SR-4 called to report a boulder blocking the westbound lane.
November 15 8:59 a.m. A caller on Fossil Creek Rd. reported an unauthorized vehicle trespassing on Timber Property. 4:50 p.m. A Rosburg resident called to report an abandoned vehicle parked on the West side of the Grays River Fire Hall.
November 16 10:36 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a man came to the house and was acting strange in front of the doorbell camera. 2:52 p.m. Several residents reported a power outage on E Birnie Slough Rd. PUD was notified and broken power lines were found at the transformer. 8:01 p.m. A westbound driver on SR-4 called to report a vehicle driving in front of them that had no taillights.
November 17 5:13 a.m. Cowlitz County advised that SR-4 was temporarily shut down due to an accident near Abernathy Creek. 8:39 a.m. An eastbound driver called to ask that more signs be put up warning travelers of the accident on SR-4 and instructing drivers to use the ferry for an alternate route. 8:51 a.m. WSP reported to the Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Department an abandoned vehicle on Seal River Rd. 1:01 p.m. A caller on SR-4 called to report large rocks obstructing the eastbound lane.
