March 17 10:06 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that their neighbor’s tractor was blocking their driveway. 12:33 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report vandalism on their property; a T post was knocked down and some wire had been cut. 4:13 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office towed a private boat with three people on board that was too close to the tugboats at the Elochoman Marina. 9:05 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to help an elderly Skamokawa resident who had fallen.
March 18 3:59 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report an unknown vehicle that had been sitting in a pull-off area on W SR4. 9:56 a.m. A concerned citizen called to report they saw someone who was possibly fishing illegally on the Elochoman River. 10:19 a.m. A Cathlamet business owner called to report that a customer drove off without paying for services. 4:06 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance transported an elderly Cathlamet resident to the hospital. 7:57 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of someone shooting; the caller reported hearing shots coming from Elochoman Valley Rd. and was concerned about the noise.
March 19 4:24 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that an unwanted person in their home would not leave; deputies arrived on the scene, spoke to the person, and told them to leave the property. 9:05 a.m. A caller on Fairground Rd. reported a suspicious person was trying to break into a boat house across the street from them and was told by the property owner that no one had permission to be there. 4:50 p.m. A customer called to report that someone they knew was rude and made threatening gestures toward them while they were in a Cathlamet business earlier that day.
March 20 4:16 a.m. Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to assist an elderly Skamokawa resident who was experiencing low oxygen. 9:36 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded after a semi-truck struck the guardrail on SR4 near Miller Point Rd. and blocked the highway; no injuries were reported, and the vehicle was moved. 11:24 a.m. The Skamokawa Fire Department responded to a power outage on Evergreen Ln .; PUD was notified. 12:33 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to reports of a power outage on Risk Rd .; PUD was notified. 5:59 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist a resident who was having an allergic reaction. 9:05 p.m. The Coast Guard responded to assist two boaters after their boat died, and they became stranded near Vista Park and needed their boat towed.
March 21 10:27 a.m. The Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Office and Search and Rescue responded after a hiker was reported missing off Eden Valley Road; the hiker went for a walk in the woods with their spouse, was separated, and the spouse could not get ahold of them. Search and Rescue were able to locate the uninjured hiker and escort them out of the woods. 11:06 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that a vehicle was trying to run over their Dog, driving back several times on SR4 across from the Refuge. 8:44 p.m. A caller on SR4 near the bottom of Abe Creek Hill reported large rocks in the roadway the size of soccer balls.
March 22 9:23 a.m .: Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a phone box and power pole being hit on N Welcome Slough Rd .; skid marks were visible, but deputies could not locate the vehicle responsible. 6:51 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that someone was trying to get into their brother’s trailer on E SR4 but the brother is out of town and no one has permission to be there.
March 23 7:43 a.m. The Grays River Fire Department responded to assist an elderly Rosburg resident who was having a seizure. 4:59 p.m. Cathlamet Emergency Services assisted an elderly Puget Island resident who had fallen. 5:03 p.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to reports of multiple power outages on Ostervold Rd. and Crossdike Rd .; PUD was notified.
