March 24 11:13 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies attempted to perform a welfare check on a Cathlamet resident who’s family member had not been able to contact; the resident was not home when deputies arrived, but they had been seen by one of the officers the day before. 7:52 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to transport an elderly Skamokawa resident with breathing difficulties to the hospital.
March 25 3:36 a.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that a suspicious person was stealing cans from the recycling receptacles at the Puget Island Fire Hall but couldn’t provide a good description of the person due to thick fog. 7:29 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Cathlamet resident after a family member reported not seeing them for two weeks. Deputies learned that the resident was safe and healthy in a neighboring county. 10:32 a.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to provide an elderly Cathlamet resident with a lift assist. 12:53 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that they had found a shaved power line and a phone box that looked like it had been hit by a vehicle. 1:34 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report an unknown vehicle parked in a no parking area and requested the vehicle be ticketed. Deputies made contact with the owner of the vehicle, who moved after officers asked them to. 8:25 p.m. A concerned citizen reported hearing shots fired east of the County Line Park on SR4 which turned out to be a small campfire popping loudly. 9:30 p.m. A driver on Main Street in Cathlamet called for assistance after locking their keys in their vehicle.
March 26 6:27 a.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to assist an elderly Rosburg resident who was sick. 12:06 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of unwanted individuals needing to be removed from a Cathlamet resident’s home after they refused to leave and were causing a disturbance. 7:29 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report being assaulted by a resident whose apartment they were performing maintenance in. 9:13 p.m. Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist a Puget Island resident who had fallen and felt ill.
March 27 1:19 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to request assistance getting their vehicle unlocked and jumped. 5:42 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies assisted a driver on Main Street whose vehicle died and needed a jump.
March 28 10:01 p.m. A caller at the County Line Park reported seeing the orange life raft belonging to Cowlitz County that has been reported several times to have been seen floating in the river over the past couple weeks. 11:26 a.m. The Grays River Ambulance responded to assist a resident of Deep River who was experiencing symptoms of illness. 1:02 p.m. A caller on E SR4 near the passing lanes called to report that a large work vehicle was driving at a slow rate of speed without hazards on and impeding traffic. 10:10 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies performed a welfare check on a Cathlamet resident who a family member had not been able to get ahold of. The resident was safe and healthy in their home when deputies arrived and promised to contact the family member. 11:20 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that an unknown vehicle was parked in their driveway when they got home that night but left once they pulled in, headed toward SR4.
March 29 6:12 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a motion alarm going off at a Cathlamet residence; the owner’s cat set off the motion alarm. 7:38 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that a driver going at a high rate of speed on Columbia stopped their vehicle, reversed it, and yelled profanities at them and drove because the caller had yelled at the vehicle to slow down.
March 30 1:12 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to help a Cathlamet resident who was having difficulty breathing. 3:26 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported their pet turtle was stolen and was given information for WAAG. 6:19 p.m. A caller on Outfield Rd. called to report an abandoned vehicle stuck in the ditch. 7:52 p.m. A driver on SR4, on the east side of KM mountain, called to report that they were almost run off the road by an unknown vehicle who was going at a high rate of speed, but they were able to pull off onto a side road safely.
