Wahkiakum County pet owners now have new options for affordable veterinary care, thanks to a growing partnership between Serenity Veterinary Care and Wahkiakum Animal Advocates Group (WAAG). After a successful first event on April 12, Serenity Veterinary Care will return to the Skamokawa Grange on Saturday, May 10, providing much-needed services for local animals.
Serenity’s Mobile Vet Clinic offers preventative services such as wellness exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and basic treatments at reduced costs. With no veterinary services of its own in Wahkiakum County, Serenity Vet’s efforts to bring resources directly into the community have been warmly received.
"The vets did a great job assessing the animals, and the Skamokawa Grange was a perfect location," said WAAG Board Member Lynette Wright. "They had a really smart setup with dogs and cats kept separate, and they even used a smaller room just in case any cats got loose."
To take advantage of the May 10 clinic, pet owners must register in advance. Registration can be completed online by visiting wahkiakumanimals.org/waag-headline-news or by calling Serenity Veterinary Care at 360-779-1672. Seniors ages 65 and over and first responders will receive a 10 percent discount on services. In addition, those who need assistance with transportation can reach out to WAAG for support. Appointments fill quickly, so community members are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot.
