Bald Eagle Days to include photography contest

Event organizers are in full swing preparing for the 44th installment of Bald Eagle Days. Among the many events and shows going on throughout the weekend will be the Wahkiakum Photography Contest.

The contest, which is free to register, will showcase the county through photography in four separate categories: “Rooted and Rising,” Wildlife, Landscape, and People/Culture. Photos must have been taken in Wahkiakum County and organizers are asking for recent, unpublished photos.

“Wahkiakum County has so much to offer when it comes to photography,” said event organizer Rene Westbrook. “Not just the scenery, but the amount of very talented photographers. It just feels right to give them an opportunity to showcase their talents.”

Winners of each category, in both adult and kids (under 18) divisions, will have their work showcased right here in the Wahkiakum County Eagle. Additionally, prints will be on display at the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce Office and Visitors Center on 102 Main St.

Again, there is no cost to register for the event; however, participants will need to submit actual prints. Organizers will have printing capabilities for a small cost recovery fee.

Registration is available at the Chamber of Commerce office, The Wahkiakum Eagle, or online at https://machform.clnw.com/view.php?id=89236. For more info, call 360-795-9996.
