NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY AND PUBLIC COMMENT FOR THE DRAFT 2026-2029 METROPOLITAN AND REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
Kelso, WA — NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments (CWCOG) invites the public to comment on the Draft 2026-2029 Metropolitan and Regional Transportation Improvement Program (M/RTIP). The M/RTIP is a four-year program of transportation projects with regional significance and/or funded with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) or Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grants. Projects in the M/RTIP have secured funding and are ready to move forward. The M/RTIP includes projects in the CWCOG Metropolitan Planning Area (all of Cowlitz County, WA and Rainier, OR) or one of four other counties in Southwest Washington (Grays Harbor, Lewis, Pacific, Wahkiakum).
The Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments is a multi-purpose association of governments that delivers a diverse array of federal, state, and local programs while fulfilling its primary function as a regional planning organization.
Beginning August 19, 2025, the Draft 2026-2029 M/RTIP document will be available online at http://www.cwcog.org or by calling the CWCOG office at (360) 577-3041 to arrange for document pickup. Close date for comments is September 2, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
