Starting Monday, August 25, the Rainier Senior Center is testing out selling “grab-n-go” breakfast items Monday thru Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 a.m. The breakfast options will be available this week and next through Labor Day and, depending on response, may continue further into the fall.
“The proximity of the Senior Center to the boat ramp and the foot traffic there could create a new revenue opportunity for us by offering early-morning breakfasts for anglers as they head out on the water,” said Rainier Senior Center President Jan Rich. “Depending on the response and interest, this is something we might continue to explore as an ongoing offering throughout the seasons.”
The breakfasts come pre-packaged and are accessible through the patio door closest to the boat ramp. Current offerings are a “Hearty Breakfast Burrito” or “Classic Biscuits & Gravy” and drink (coffee, juice, or water) for $10. Cash, debit card, credit card, and Venmo are accepted.
“Obviously you don’t have to be going fishing to partake in the breakfast,” said Rich. “We hope anyone in the community who is hungry and looking for a breakfast pick-me-up will stop by.”
The Senior Center is located in the Rainier Riverfront Center at 48 West 7th Street. For more info, call 503-556-3889.
