Veterans dinner to return

For years, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church has hosted the annual Veterans Dinner. However, last year's event was cancelled due to lack of funds. Thanks to generous donors who have made this possible, the Veterans Dinner will return this year and will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m.

"This year, we are partnering with local churches and organizations to put together this tribute evening for our veterans and their families," said Coordinator Susan Gentry. According to Gentry, retired Sheriff Mark Howie has agreed to be the guest speaker. Those who would like to be involved in the planning of this year's dinner can contact Susan at 702-403-3684 or can attend the planning meeting on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, which is located at 549 WA-409 on Puget Island.
