Aug. 18 8:21 a.m. The Grays River ambulance transported a sick elderly Rosburg resident to the hospital. 8:36 a.m. An elderly Skamokawa resident was transported to the hospital by LifeFlight for severe chest pains. 11:35 a.m. A report was made about a large hog at a Beaver Creek residence that was being neglected. The animal appeared to have no food or water, overgrown hooves, and what looked to be a bad eye infection. 1:33 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to assist an elderly Skamokawa resident experiencing breathing difficulties. 3:02 p.m. The Grays River Fire District responded to reports of smoke coming from a Rosburg residence. The homeowner extinguished the fire before units arrived. 8:25 p.m. A Rosburg resident was provided with a lift assist from The Grays River Fire District after falling. 8:43 p.m. Skamokawa residents found a loose dog on Eden Valley Road, which appeared to belong to someone, as it had a flea collar on. The residents were put in contact with WAAG for further guidance on finding the owner. 9:11 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report a locked fence on a neighboring property that appears to have been pried open, and a drill was lying nearby on the ground. Deputies attempted to contact the property owner.
Aug. 19 1:55 a.m. A Cathlamet resident was transported to the hospital for high blood pressure and breathing troubles. 11:07 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported the theft of a political sign from the side of E SR 4. 12:06 p.m. A Puget Island resident came in to report a complaint about young people riding ATVs and dirt bikes up and down N Welcome Slough Road. 4:55 p.m. Officials at the Elochoman Marina called to report a boat that had been at the marina unpaid for several days.
Aug. 20 9:18 a.m. An elderly Grays River resident was transported to the hospital for signs of a stroke. 3:15 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies assisted a motorcyclist in retrieving their bike after they had tipped it while driving up an inclined logging Road.
Aug. 21 9:24 a.m. A Rosburg resident called to report that their neighbor was trespassing on their property despite having been formally trespassed from the property previously. Deputies arrived and gave the neighbor a trespass warning. 4:52 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that their child’s vehicle was side swiped while crossing the Birnie Slough bridge and the other driver drove away without stopping. 5:14 p.m. A driver on Oneida Road called to report a downed tree was blocking the westbound lane. 7:51 p.m. A concerned citizen called to report a suspicious circumstance after watching several individuals pulling out what appeared to be a boat engine from the river near the bridge on Foster Road.
Aug. 22 8:20 a.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that they had received a scam call and thought the Sheriff’s Office should know. 3:55 p.m. A Beaver Creek resident called to complain that their neighbor’s dogs, who had previously bitten their child, were loose at the end of the caller’s driveway. 8:23 p.m. A driver on SR 4 in Skamokawa called to report an erratic driver going eastbound who almost hit someone in a no-passing zone. 9:26 p.m. A caller was serving eviction papers to their tenant in Rosburg when the tenant became aggressive and began making threatening comments and displaying aggressive body language. The caller wanted this documented at this time. 9:48 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to assist an elderly resident who had been stung by a bee and became very sick. 9:59 p.m. Several calls came in to complain about a large group having a bonfire and being loud near N Welcome Slough Road on Puget Island. Deputies advised that the fire was in an approved pit.
Aug. 23 8:35 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to complain that their neighbor’s dog got out, attacked his dog and then bit him. The caller just wanted this documented in case he needed medical attention in the future. 9:37 a.m. A concerned citizen called to request that deputies perform a welfare check on an elderly person who appeared to be wandering around Columbia Street, heading towards Maple. 10:32 a.m. A Puget Island resident complained that youths were driving around recklessly in the area and has photos for deputies. 11:03 a.m. A Puget Island resident attempted to confront the dirt bikers about their excessive speed and claims one of the people approached him and made threats on his life. 11:44 a.m. A driver on W SR 4 called to report an erratic vehicle weaving in the road near Nelson Creek Road. 12:59 p.m. A Rosburg resident called to complain about a neighbor who he’d been having ongoing problems with and had been trespassed from the property, was taking photos of his property. Deputies advised the caller to apply for an order. 5:18 p.m. A driver called to report that they were stuck behind the gate off the Fossil Creek Mainline. Deputies worked to find someone with a key to unlock the gate. 7:25 p.m. The Grays River Ambulance transported an elderly Rosburg resident to the hospital for illness. 7:46 p.m. A caller in Cathlamet reported her purse stolen and said it may have been left somewhere on Columbia Street. 9:07 p.m. A Puget Island resident was transported to the hospital for heart troubles.
Aug. 24 Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a male party who was preventing a female party from leaving and had taken her keys. WSP responded as well, a report was taken and no police action had occurred. 12:55 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that three children were riding in a boat that was being actively towed around by a truck on N Welcome Slough Road. 6:49 p.m. A Grays River resident called to report that they were receiving harassing notes from a known person. Deputies suggested that the caller get a restraining order.
