Rainier City Library appoints new board members

The Rainier City Library recently confirmed three new members to its advisory board.

The Library Board makes recommendations to the city council about rules and policies for the efficient and effective operation of the library, its services and programs. The board typically meets once a month in the Rainier City Hall Council chambers and is made up of community volunteers.

New appointees include Sharon Erdman, Kayla Hendrickson and Sue Lowry. They join existing members Board Chair Marcia Roberts, as well as Vanessa Devin, Tonya Higgins and Erika Ladage. Serving as city council library liaison is Connie Budge and serving as board secretary is Library Director R. Allen Snider.

“We’re excited to have a full slate of Library Board Members as we start looking ahead to 2026,” said Snider. “These members of the Rainier community volunteer a great deal of their valuable time helping to advise in the administration of the Rainier City Library, meeting ten months out of the year, generating fun ideas for events and programming, and generally promoting the mission of the Library ‘to provide diverse learning opportunities to the Rainier community,’ as we have been since 1922.”

The board meets once a month to discuss ongoing activities and initiatives for the library. Further information can be found by visiting cityofrainier.com/library-board.
