I fell down on the job the past couple of weeks and went gallivanting off to California with my daughters and sister, to the wedding of my nephew Stephen Grimm. Brought my mom back with me for a couple of weeks. Wednesday mom and I were lunch guests of the C.T. Wests. On Sunday we had the Alstons and Piamontis for dinner. Thursday we spent the day with Peggy and Thursday evening the Johnsons were here. And on Saturday we took Mom to Portland to finish her stay with Louise and Guido and kids: stopped in Vancouver to see the Harpers.
The TAC’s met Monday afternoon at my house with Ada White, Virginia Martin, Roma Gollersrud and Alice Mooers attending.
Miss Mary Silverman was honoree at a bridal shower on Wednesday evening in the Grange Hall. Hostesses were her aunt Hazel Brockway and cousin Terri Anderson.
St. Catherine’s church council met on Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Bud Holten. Main topic was a new church. Reports from Ted Barr, property chairman and Mary Ann Madden, CCD chairman, were given. A donation for the HJR 19 was agreed upon. Discussion of help for the proposed Vietnamese family was tabled pending more information. Others attending were Howard Madden, Mary Lang, Bob Kerstetter and Father O’Shea.
St. Catherine’s Altar Society met Monday evening at the home of Mary Ann Madden. Attending were Sharon Mast, Pat Beyer, Betty Miller, Cecelia Barr, Ann Fryberger, Noreen Holten, Pat Doumit and Mary Lang.
The Senior Citizen potluck luncheon will be held Friday, November 21 in the Skamokawa Grange hall at noon. Any Senior citizen who would like to attend and needs transportation call Mary Parker.
The Skamokawa Grange is sponsoring a “Country Store” on Friday and Saturday–Come in and shop from 12 to 6 p.m. on Friday and from 10 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Covered bleacher fund grows
Jennifer Jones and Maureen Paulsen solicited for the Mother’s Club Covered Bleacher fund at the Mules-Ilwaco football game on Friday. The effort resulted in an addition of $27.21 to the growing fund.
An October 31 bake sale by the Mother’s Club netted $91.05. The total amount on hand for covered bleachers is $2853.56.
