Sheriff's Report

November 11 8:55 a.m. A driver on SR 409 struck a deer. 3:35 p.m. Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to assist an adolescent on Puget Island who had a dislocated knee.

November 12 3:52 a.m. A driver on SR 4 called to report an animal lying in the middle of the westbound lane after the driver had run it over. 3:55 a.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance transported an Elochoman Valley resident to the hospital for breathing difficulties. 12:19 p.m. A caller on the Weyerhaeuser lease area reported that a known individual was trespassing on the timber leased area and had already been warned once. 12:23 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that they lost a loaded handgun on Hornstras Beach on the wildlife refuge. Deputies searched for the weapon and were unable to locate it. 4:30 p.m. A caller reported that the door to a local business in Skamokawa was wide open, but no one was there. 5:14 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report that his car had been missing for over a week. The resident called back to inform deputies that his friend had his car. 6:26 p.m. Deputies assisted a Cathlamet resident with unlocking their vehicle. 6:28 a.m. A Cathlamet resident found an injured deer and asked if they should dispatch the animal themselves, but deputies advised the caller not to do so. 7:22 p.m. A driver on SR4 reported their truck broke down in the middle of the road near County Line Park. They were able to push their vehicle to the side of the road and no longer needed assistance.

November 13 8:55 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that a friend’s brother shot holes in their vehicle. Deputies called for assistance from the Kelso PD.

November 14 2:11 p.m. A caller reported they were experiencing calls from an electronic scam. The caller was advised to block the number. 5:25 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance transported an Elochoman Valley resident to the hospital for illness.

November 15 12:41 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a power outage after a vehicle reportedly hit a power pole on Middle Valley Road. 8:38 a.m. A driver on SR 4 reported a basketball-sized rock near Maple Ridge Road.

November 16 8:39 a.m. Several drivers reported an unoccupied vehicle sitting on the side of Beaver Creek Road. Deputies made contact with the vehicle's owner, who stated that they had lost the key fob and would relocate the truck once they retrieved the other set. 12:54 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to request assistance after a wild goose got into their chicken pen. 10:47 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 near Flandersville who was allegedly almost crashed into several times while swerving in their lane.
