The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop that could prove beneficial for businesses and the community. Covering the theme of grant writing, this workshop will take place at Skamokawa Vista Park in the Annex Building on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. The Chamber is happy to partner with the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments to present this training. At times, access to these types of funds is crucial for small businesses, government agencies, and the non-profit sector.
“Our goal is to give folks the skills needed to not only apply for various grants that are out there, but to have their applications shine and hopefully be awarded funds to help them succeed,” said Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ryan Murillo. “We hope to add to this with many more trainings covering a variety of topics relevant to the Wahkiakum community in the future.”
To be able to cover the costs of presenters and their travel out to Skamokawa, the workshop is $10. At the workshop, attendees will be introduced to overall grants that are available, what grant awarders are looking for in applications, the “dos and don’ts” of applying, and the newest best practices. Additionally, these trainings are excellent networking opportunities both with presenters as well as other attendees and their respective organizations. Registration is available at tinyurl.com/wahkgrant101.
