Posh Resale becomes NW Mercantile

Posh Resale opened in Rainier mid-2025, bringing quality merchandise and brand names at deeply discounted prices. The inventory includes lightly used or new-with-tag clothing at deeply discounted prices from well-known brands to high-end designers for both men and women. According to store Manager Britannia Jones, sales have been steady. Also, a recent opportunity to expand into the neighboring storefront - formerly Sabor Mixto - has allowed the store to double in size and increase inventory offerings.

Along with the recent expansion is the change of the name from Posh Resale to NW Mercantile; in part, to appeal more broadly to include male clientele and impressions of offering consignment. "Resale made it sound like it was geared more toward women and made people think we bought items or were a thrift store," said Jones.

The store has a planned ribbon cutting with the Rainier Chamber of Commerce and City of Rainier on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. The event will commemorate the re-brand and expansion and will feature a store-wide sale with 50 percent off all items. The expanded storefront has a re-organized layout, including size and color, and features a broad variety of clothing like jeans, jackets, formal and casual wear, shoes, active wear, purses, accessories and more.

"We will be bringing in some home goods items as well as new clothing lines and accessories," said Jones. "[Also] a larger selection of quality items, as well as new items from Carhartt. Fishing, hunting, and sporting equipment will be coming through the year, but [that's] still a work in progress. We are currently getting a new Facebook [page] up and running, but people can continue to check the Posh Resale Rainier Facebook for updates. The new page will be posted to that as well. We welcome any suggestions of items or things to carry or just people's feedback".

NW Mercantile is located at 106 E. B. Street in Rainier. Public parking is available along 1st street and two-hour parking is available on the opposite side of the highway. Hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store is closed Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
