Welcome library members and everyone to our April update.

NEW PASS We now have Northwest Forest passes at the library. This pass is honored at all Forest Service day-use or entrance fee sites in Washington and Oregon. We have two of these passes and they will be available beginning Saturday, March 28. Limit one per family.

PATTY CAKES BOOK CORNER Check out our library book corner in Patty Cakes. You may contribute any amount for your chosen book. This enables you an opportunity to directly donate to your library while enjoying the Café ambience. Thank you all!

NEW BOOK CORNERS We will soon have two new library book corners. One will be at Puget Island Gardens in their main building, and the other will be at The Cottage Bread and Breakfast, so keep an eye out.

ONE BOOK, ONE COAST From Wednesday, April 1 to Sunday, May 31, join Cathlamet Public Library and over 100 libraries throughout Washington, Oregon, and California in the first year of One Book, One Coast as we gather to read a shared book together. This year's pick is "They Called Us Enemy" by George Takei, with copies available at the library. You can also check out the Libby app. This bestselling graphic memoir recounts Takei's experiences from incarceration camps during his childhood. The program aims to unite libraries by celebrating literacy, learning, community, and civic discourse.

GARDEN JUNK JOURNAL On Saturday, March 28 from 3 to 5 p.m., the library will be offering a garden planning junk journal workshop. Our paper crafts and maker space will be available for you to craft your own garden journal.

WESTSIDE SENIOR LUNCH On Wednesday, April 1 from Noon to 1:30 p.m. at Rosburg Hall, the library will be there to provide you a library card and answer questions about your library. See you there.

MASTER GARDENERS On Thursday, April 2 from 2 to 5 p.m., the library will be hosting a Master Gardeners Garden planning workshop in the library. Come and plan with others for your garden.

BINGO On Saturday, April 14 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Norse Hall the library will be there to provide you a library card and answer questions about your library. See you at Bingo night.

PODCASTS Visit KMUN radio website for podcast interviews about Cathlamet Public Library: The Human Beat, by Roger Rocka. An Adventure in History, by Mac Burns and Alana Kujala. Talk of Our Towns, by Donna Quinn.

WESTEND DELIVERY Every Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m., we provide a Westend Delivery service at the Rosburg Fire Station. Patrons who pick-up a Book, DVD, or Pass receive two chocolate chip cookies from The Cottage Bread and Breakfast at the delivery. See website for details.

CULTURAL PASSES Six passes are now available, including Clatsop County Historical Society, Discover, Oregon State Park day-parking, Rice Museum of Rocks and Minerals, Northwest Forest, and Columbia River Maritime Museum. Reserve ahead of time. Limit one per family.

CARD DISCOUNTS Enjoy 15 percent off with your library card at Patty Cakes, The Spar, The Video Store, JJ's Pizza & Mohr, Naselle Coffee Shop, and Little Island Creamery and 25 percent off at The Blue Scorcher Bakery for bread purchases. Give them a big thank you for supporting the library.

CONGRATULATIONS Library member Kelly Cavness participated in the recent Cathlamet Public Library's 93rd birthday raffle and was the winner of a $25 gift certificate at Godfather's Books in Astoria, along with fun merchandise.

LIBRARY CARDS Cathlamet library cards are free for all Wahkiakum residents. Cathlamet Public Library is located at 115 Columbia St. and is open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.
