The Wahkiakum Mules hosted their only home track and field event of the year last Thurseday. For the boys, Austin Burns took third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.95, and Nevan Bingham came in fifth with a time of 12.22. Burns also took third in the 200 meters clocking in at 25.51. Last Thursday, the Wahkiakum Mule baseball team traveled to Adna and split a double header with the Pirates. The Mules lost the first game 1-7. Travis Wegdahl got a hit, a stolen base and an RBI. Susan Eileen Sullivan, 63, of Kelso passed away Nov. 8, 2013, at the Hospice Care Center. Her obituary was published in The Eagle November 26, 2013. For her senior project, Wahkiakum High School student Maya Stanley has organized a Men’s Alumni Basketball Game to raise money for the Lady Mules basketball program. The board held a public hearing to collect comment on an upgraded watershed management plan for Wahkiakum and Cowlitz counties.
