    --from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife OLYMPIA - Clam diggers today (Friday) got a green light to proceed with a two-day razor clam dig Nov. 11-12 at three ocean beaches. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) approved the dig after marine toxin tests showed that the clams on the three beaches are safe to eat. Beaches scheduled to open for the two-day dig include Long Beach, Twin Harbors and Mocrocks. No digging will be allowed either day before noon.   • Cathlamet merchants joining food drive

    Cathlamet's Main Street merchants on Monday will begin a holiday season food collection drive to benefit the county's food banks. The first collection will end November 19, with all donations going to the Wahkiakum Lions Club, which will conduct its annual Walk and Knock Food Drive. The collection will begin again for distribution to the food banks throughout the holiday season. Participating merchants will have a large turkey logo on their door or window.
