The Wahkiakum County PUD Board of Commissioners met briefly on Tuesday morning to hear reports and swap chair positions for the coming year. General Manager Dave Tramblie gave an update on the PUD’s project to replace meters on Puget Island with automated reader meters (AMR). The Wahkiakum Mules boys basketball team started the season with two wins and a loss this week. Last Saturday they traveled to Naselle to face an old rival, the Comets. The Mules won 59-54. The state Board of Natural Resources recently took action to reimburse three western Washington counties a total of $3.2 million for the transfer of 442 acres of state-owned forestland to conservation status. Cross Country teams from Wahkiakum and Naselle High Schools competed in the District IV 1B/2B Championship in Onalaska last Saturday.
