    Last Thursday, a caller notified the Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Department that they had discovered a deceased body, half buried, while walking along the Columbia River in the Little Cape Horn area.     On Friday, Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services received another positive test result notification for covid-19 in a Wahkiakum County resident, bringing the county’s total to 10. The individual is symptomatic and in self-quarantine. The three new cases this week are not believed to be related and there is currently no connection to the daycare or the school.     At 12:50 a.m. last Thursday, the US Coast Guard was informed that a 608 foot container ship, the Genco Auvergne, had run soft aground in the Columbia River near Skamokawa Vista Park after a loss of main engine propulsion.     A hot timber market should bode well for Wahkiakum County's Current Expense Fund, county officials learned Tuesday. The county relies on revenue from state managed trust timber land to support the fund, which supports most courthouse offices. Last fall, representatives of the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR), which manages the trust timberland, estimated the county's 2020 revenue from timber sales would be $1.3 million.     Because of a clerical issue, the number of confirmed cases of covid-19 rose to seven in Wahkiakum County over the weekend. 575 tests have been conducted in the county so far.     Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services (WHHS) has received a positive test result notification for a 7th COVID-19 case in a Wahkiakum County resident. The person has already recovered.
