Washington’s average annual wage grew by 2.6 percent in 2015 to $56,273, according to the state Employment Security Department. The average weekly wage rose from $1,054 in 2014 to $1,082 in 2015. These figures include only those wages that are covered by unemployment insurance. This year’s Finnish American Folk Festival Paavo Nurmi run is scheduled for July 30 starting at 8 a.m. The run is named after the Finnish runner and Olympic gold medal winner in the 1920, 1924 and 1928 games.
