June 21, 2007

The Kiwanis Club of Cathlamet will hold its annual Scholarship Golf Tournament to benefit Wahkiakum High School Seniors on July 7 at Skyline Golf Course.

Golfers, individuals and four-person teams, are invited to participate in the scramble format tournament.

Since starting the tournament in 2000, the Kiwanis Club has been able to award $2,000 to $2,500 to seniors who have demonstrated leadership abilities.

Registration is $50 per person and includes green fees, a continental breakfast, barbecue lunch and entry into prize drawings. Cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded to the top teams depending on number of golfers entered.

Golfers compete in 18-hole, 4-person team scramble. It is suggested golfers bring extra money for mulligans and raffles. Tee times start at 9 a.m.

A limited number of golf carts is available for rental on a first come, first serve basis. Enrollment is limited to 44 golfers.

Deadline for reservations is June 30. Checks should be made payable to Cathlamet Kiwanis Club. Cost is $50 per golfer, $200 per team. Individuals will be assigned to teams.
