Cathlamet student Lainie Ferguson has been accepted into the People to People World Leadership Forum.
Ferguson will join a select group of students in Washington, D.C. in April 2008 to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the United State's most prominent monuments and institutions.
Ferguson will study the characteristics of American leadership. Forum delegates also participate in small-group discussions and exercises to experience first-hand how successful leaders develop strategies, make decisions, build consensus and foster change.
Ferguson was nominated based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.
She will be at the Puget Island Garage Sale at 215 W. Sunny Sands Road on June 29 and 30 to earn money for her trip. She will also have tickets available for a kayak she is raffling.
