Win a pig – and get your workout in at the same time!

Don’t miss the Wahkiakum County Fair on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 16-18. “Chick it Out” and spend the day in Skamokawa!

On Saturday following the Round Robin show in the main arena, win a weaner or feeder pig in the Greased Pig contest. All you have to do is be the fastest to catch, then hold it up and off the ground, for 10 seconds. 10 very long seconds. Entry fee: $10. Four classes: ages 5 – 10, 11 – 15, 16- 18 and age 19 and up. Participants must have facilities to keep and raise the pig if won. Must have signed entry form, paid entry fee and release form before entering. Contact Lisa Frink, 795-3480.

For those who prefer more sedate endeavors, a cribbage tournament starts Thursday at noon in the Youth Building. Entry fee is $5. Standard cribbage rules apply. Plaque and prizes will be presented. Contact Mike Backman, 431-4421 for details and registration information.

For the extroverts, Kids and Adult Karaoke contests will be held on Friday at the Entertainment Stage. Categories are Male and Female Country. Age 12 – 17, Cash Prizes of $25, $10, $5. Adult, 18 and up, Cash prizes of $75, $50 and $25.

Make sure to catch the Slow Lawnmower and Tractor Races, to be held in Fairgrounds Park. The Kids race on Friday at 2:30 p.m., Adults on Saturday at 1 p.m. For rules, see the Wahkiakum County Fair advertisement in this issue of The Eagle. Contact Ralph Keyser, 849-4236.
