Local nurse praised forhumanitarian work in Kenya

August 23, 2007

In July, Cathlamet nurse Julie McKinley accompanied Imani Project Director Marlene Anderson and four other women to the remote villages in coastal Kenya to volunteer her skills to help fight the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Anderson would like to acknowledge McKinley's work, and the generous contributions made to the nurse by the Cathlamet community.

She writes: " Thank you Julie McKinley for your work with the Imani Project. Your energy, enthusiasm, and perseverance made this summer's trip more successful than ever before. Your nursing skills, your caring and compassionate attitude toward the villagers made a huge difference in their lives. You are changing the world; one person at a time. Congratulations!

To all of the people in the Cathlamet community who so generously donated medical and dental supplies, school supplies, made financial donations, or helped in any other way, please know how grateful we are for your help. You have positively impacted the lives of hundreds of African villagers half a world away.
