Golfers raise cash for Kiwanis scholarhips

The 9th Annual Kiwanis Club of Cathlamet Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament last Saturday featured good golf and good proceeds.

Held at Skyline Golf Course, Cathlamet, the tournament raised an estimated $3,000 for the Kiwanis Club's scholarship program for Wahkiakum High School students.

Two teams tied for the championship of the scramble tournament with scores of 59. Winning the coin flip for first choice of prizes were Wayne Cochran, Marsha Cleveland, Pam Abena and Danny Fey.

Claiming second were Earl Fisher, Sean Remer, Loren Lee and Mike Lee.

Placing third were James Baker, Josh Watilo, Brooke Johnson and Ashley Bean, who all came from Seattle to participate.

Winning the prizes for women's and men's longest drive were Cleveland and Alex Docker. Winning the prizes for closest to the pins were Jerry Wettle and Brandon Olsen.
