County Business Surveys to be conducted at Fair

August 21, 2008

The Lower Columbia Economic Development Council has contracted with the WSU Extension Office and the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce to conduct an asset mapping and needs assessment of the business activity in the county.

The Chamber of Commerce and the Extension Office will both have booths out at the Wahkiakum County Fair this week where all local businesses, hobbyists, and entrepreneurs are encouraged to drop by and fill out the short survey form.

The Lower Columbia EDC wants to identify the small businesses in Wahkiakum County and get them what they need to become successful. Information from this study will be used to identify the service requirements and any impediments that prevent our businesses from achieving their desired growth.

A by-product of this project will be a resource guide that identifies the goods and services available in Wahkiakum County so that potential customers can shop their local businesses, keeping the money in the county. To be included in the survey and the resource guide visit one of the booths at the Fair or call the EDC at 360-795-3996.
